Summer is almost here, so that means Dolly Parton is getting ready for a second season at her waterpark, Dolly’s Splash Country.
“I can’t believe it’s been a year since we first opened back in May of 2001,” says Dolly. “Folks had a great time making waves and taking plunges on all the rides last year, and we’re expecting even more families to come out and enjoy our Smoky Mountain water adventures in 2002. “
The waterpark’s lifeguards are among the elite in the industry after being named the 2001 Ellis Southern Region Lifeguard Champions.
“Our team beat out 25 others from all over the south,” says Dolly. “Lots of folks told us that first-year waterparks usually don’t even enter a team – much less win!”
Taking suggestions from park visitors, several infrastructural improvements have been made at Dolly’s Splash Country for 2002, including more deck space and lounge chairs.
“We also added more shade corners for land lovers like me, and two new restaurants - also for folks like me.”
