Dolly's Splash Country to Hold Lifeguard Job Fair February 9 - 10

01/15/2001

Dolly Parton’s Waterpark, Dolly’s Splash Country, will hold a Lifeguard Job Fair February 9-10 to look for lifeguards for the new attraction’s first operating season, scheduled to begin May 19, 2001.

Appointments will be scheduled in advance and held throughout the two-day Job Fair for those who wish to apply for a lifeguard position at the new park. Lifeguard certification is not required, as Dolly’s Splash Country will provide the necessary training and certification.

Applicants must be 16 years of age or older, and should be able to work during most of the Waterpark’s operating season, which runs from mid-May through Labor Day. Employee benefits include competitive wages, flexible schedules, cash incentive programs, company-paid training, and discounts on food and merchandise at both Dolly’s Splash Country and Dollywood.

Dolly’s Splash Country is located near Dollywood off Middle Creek Road in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. It features 15 water attractions including a multi-person family raft ride, a children’s activity area, a lazy river, single and double tube slides, a 25,000 square-foot wave pool, a speed slide, and a free fall water slide. The new Waterpark will also offer food and beverage areas, a changing facility, and plentiful benches and shady areas.

Representing a $20 million investment by the Dollywood Company, Dolly’s Splash Country will cover nearly 25 acres upon completion and will be unlike any other recreational park of its kind because of its unique location in the Smokies, the scenic beauty of the East Tennessee area, Dollywood’s commitment to well-themed attractions, and Dolly’s ownership. It will allow visitors who don’t plan or have time to visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park a chance to experience some of its natural fun and beauty through unique water attractions.

To schedule an interview for available lifeguard positions at Dolly’s Splash Country, call Dollywood Personnel at (865) 428-9510 Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Those interested in other available positions at Dolly’s Splash Country or at Dollywood are invited to attend Dollywood’s 2001 Job Fair, scheduled for March 1-3. Details on Dollywood’s Job Fair will be announced in the coming weeks.

The Dollywood Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Persons of all cultural backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
